Oceanside, CA – Toddler Killed in San Tomas Dr Pedestrian Accident
Oceanside, CA (August 15, 2023) – On Tuesday, August 15, in Oceanside, a 16-month-old child was killed after he was struck by a vehicle, authorities said.
Jennifer Atenza, a spokeswoman for the Oceanside Police Department, said that around 3:40 p.m., officers were sent to the 3200 block of San Tomas Drive in response to a complaint of a traffic crash involving a toddler.
Atenza said in a press statement that the child was hit by a white Ford F-150 driven by a 62-year-old Oceanside resident. Despite life-saving efforts performed by emergency personnel, the toddler was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver remained at the site and cooperated with investigators. Officers with the OPD are continuing their inquiry in the meantime.
