Oakland, CA – Deadly Pedestrian Accident Involving Hit-and-Run Driver
Oakland, CA (December 28, 2018) – A deadly pedestrian accident took place involving a hit-and-run driver that occurred last night, December 27, on 85th Avenue.
Officials responded to the accident around 5:20 p.m. The pedestrian who lost their life was not identified except for the fact that they are a 72-year-old Oakland resident who had been struck by two vehicles. At the time of the accident, he was crossing the street at eastbound 85th Avenue.
Both vehicles fled the scene of the accident after striking the pedestrian. By the time that emergency responders made it to the scene of the accident, the pedestrian was tragically pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities have released information that the two vehicles were described as a white pickup truck and a red SUV.
No arrests have been made, as both hit-and-run suspects are still at large. Police are still investigating the circumstances of the accident.
