Pedestrian Accidents in California
We would like to offer our best wishes for a full and speedy recovery to those who were injured as a result of this accident.
When drivers are approaching pedestrians or in areas where pedestrians are most likely to be, they are supposed to exercise a standard duty of care to keep them as safe as possible. On that same token, pedestrians are supposed to utilize crosswalks and be aware of other drivers as much as they possibly can. Even with these standard precautions, the possibility of pedestrian accidents on California roadways is very real. Local authorities are still investigating this accident so that they can determine if the driver of the Toyota was responsible for the accident. Right-of-way laws tend to favor the pedestrian but there are scenarios in which the pedestrian could potentially be found at fault. This is why a thorough investigation takes place to make this determination at this time.
