Nevada City, CA – Fatal Crash on Blue Canyon Rd
Nevada City, CA (December 30, 2019) – One person is dead following a car crash into an embankment on Monday, December 30th at Blue Canyon Road and Interstate-80.
The accident occurred at about 12:50 p.m.
According to initial reports, a car was speeding and trying to pass another vehicle in the left shoulder when the driver lost control and smashed into some trees on the side of the road.
The car then burst into flames, killing one of the occupants. Bystanders made an attempt to extricate a victim from the inferno but were unable to do so. A helicopter arrived on the scene as well as fire engines to help extinguish the flames.
