Modesto, CA – Police Chase Accident Ends in Serious Crash
Modesto, CA (September 13, 2018) – An Officer named Kiashira Ruiz was injured following a police chase accident that happened on Sylvan Avenue. The accident happened on September 12.
Police said that they responded to the scene around 2 p.m. after a witness called and said that they saw two people break into a community mailbox in the Eastgate neighborhood, and then flee the scene in their Toyota Yaris.
Responding officers caught up with the suspects and attempted to pull them over but they were unable to do so. Officers chased after the vehicle while it drove in circles. From there, the two vehicles collided.
Ruiz suffered injuries and was given treatment. The suspects, identified as 25-year-old Carlos Gomez and 22-year-old Richard Raygoza, were taken to the hospital for treatment as well and then booked.
