Modesto, CA – DUI Head-on Collision Leads to Four Injuries
Modesto, CA (September 19, 2018) – Four people were seriously injured following a DUI head-on collision that happened in Modesto. The accident happened on Tuesday morning, September 18.
Police said that they responded to the scene of the incident around 4:50 a.m. between West Hatch Road and West Whitmore Avenue. 24-year-old Charysteena Urbina had been driving a Saturn sedan north approaching Hatch Road when she suddenly entered into the southbound lane for reasons that are unknown. This caused her to drive directly into the path of a pickup truck. The two collided head-on.
The motorist in the pickup truck, identified as a 42-year-old man from Modesto, was taken to the hospital with critical injuries. His name has not yet been released.
Urbina had two other passengers in her vehicle, who were identified as a 23-year-old and 20-year-old. They all suffered major injuries due to the collision and were also taken to the hospital for treatment.
Urbina has been since placed under arrest and is facing DUI charges once she is released from the hospital.
