Modesto, CA – Deadly Hit-and-Run Takes Life of One Man

Modesto, CA (September 13, 2018) – In Modesto, a deadly hit-and-run took place that led to the loss of life of one party. The accident took place on Tuesday night along Spencer Avenue.

Police say that the victim has since been identified as 49-year-old Darrell McDaniel. McDaniel was walking south on the right edge of the roadway at the time when he was suddenly struck by a vehicle. He was pushing a hand cart at the time.

The driver had been traveling at a high rate of speed when they stuck McDaniel from behind. The accident happened around 8:45 p.m. just south of Maze Boulevard.

It was confirmed that the pedestrian died as a result of the collision. The driver stopped only for a moment and then fled the scene. Now, police are searching for answers relating to the driver.
