Merced County, CA – Highway 165 Accident Ends in One Fatality
Merced County, CA (August 21, 2018) – A 31-year-old Pittsburg man was identified in a Highway 165 accident that took his life. The accident happened on Saturday night.
The man was identified as Bryan Munoz, who lost his life in the accident around 7:30 p.m. The accident took place just south of the San Joaquin River. Munoz was driving a Kia southbound on Highway 165 when his vehicle crossed over into oncoming traffic and he collided head-on with a Peterbilt big rig.
By the time first responders were called to the scene, Munoz was deceased. The driver of the tractor-trailer was identified as 50-year-old Raul Rangel. He received minor injuries and was taken to the hospital.
At this time, an investigation into the matter continues.
