Bicycle Accident in Mentone
There are many bicyclists across Southern California. With a population of nearly 4 million residents, Los Angeles is the second most populated city in the United States. This means that many types of pedestrians are out and about every day, including bicyclists. Drivers must remember to be alert for bicyclists during their daily travels. They should follow all rules of the road and exercise caution to avoid a crash. Similarly, the bicyclist must also observe traffic laws to lower their risk of being involved in a crash.
When a bicyclist is injured in a collision with a vehicle, the first question is whether negligence can be established. If the vehicle driver was negligent in hitting the bicyclist, then the bicyclist may have a claim for personal injuries. A personal injury claim includes compensation for injuries sustained in the crash, including lost wages, medical bills and pain and suffering.
The long-term effects of a bicycle accident may take the form of permanent and lingering injuries. Bicycle accidents tend to be more severe due to the fact that the bicycle offers little protection in case of a vehicle crash.
