Pedestrian Accidents in Southern California
Our thoughts are with the deceased’s pedestrian’s friends and family during this difficult time. We know how difficult it is to deal with the tragedy of losing a loved one so suddenly and unexpectedly.
Drivers should be alert and aware of their surroundings at all times. In heavily-traveled pedestrian areas, drivers should follow several basic safety precautions, including:
- Stopping at all crosswalks
- Yielding the right-of-way to pedestrians
- Driving defensively through heavily crowded areas
- Avoiding distractions such as texting or eating while driving
Many pedestrian accidents occur due to drivers failing to follow one or more of these basic safety rules. Of course, in some cases, there is nothing that can be done to avoid hitting a pedestrian. However, many times, the accident can be avoided with the exercise of due caution.
