Los Angeles, CA – Pedestrian Injured in Hit-and-Run Accident
Los Angeles, CA (September 28, 2018) – On Saturday, a pedestrian was injured in a hit-and-run accident after they were struck at the area of Santa Monica and Sawtelle Boulevards by a drunk driver.
A 64-year-old pedestrian had been on the sidewalk near a theater. The pedestrian was struck by a passing electric scooter being driven by 28-year-old Nicholas Kauffroath.
The impact was so forceful that the victim was thrown to the ground. Kauffroath didn’t stop after he struck the pedestrian but instead kept driving. Police located him near the crash site, however, and he was taken into custody.
Kauffroath has been charged since the accident.
