Los Angeles County, CA: Pedestrian Struck by Hit-and-Run Driver in Canyon Country
Los Angeles County, California (March 7, 2018): The Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Department is conducting an investigation into a pedestrian hit-and-run accident in Canyon Country on Sunday night, March 4, 2018. The victim has not been identified and only limited information about the accident has been made available while the investigation remains ongoing.
Authorities were alerted to the incident just after 8:30 p.m. when the received reports that a man had been found lying on the sidewalk beside a row of parked cars in the 19300 block of Stillmore Street, near the Sierra Vista Junior High School, just west of Whites Canyon Road. Emergency responders on the scene transported the victim to a nearby hospital to be treated for injuries sustained in the collision. No updates on his condition have been provided.
The driver of the vehicle fled the scene of the crash without stopping to render aid to the victim and is still at large. Authorities believe the suspect was driving a newer model Honda Civic, black or very dark in color. Anyone with information should contact the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s station as soon as possible.
