Los Angeles County, CA: Fatal Bicycle Crash in Burbank
Los Angeles County, California (April 17, 2018): The Los Angeles Police Department is overseeing an investigation into a fatal bicycle collision that happened in Burbank, CA, early yesterday evening, Monday, April 16, 2017. The victim has been identified as 53-year-old Lenny Trinh, a local Burbank resident.
Trinh was riding his bicycle around 5:00 p.m. in the area of Alameda Avenue, Mariposa Street, and Griffith Park Drive when a parked car opened a door, blocking his path. Trinh was thrown from the bicycle after crashing into the car door and was struck by an oncoming vehicle. Trinh was immediately transported to a nearby hospital for medical attention, but he was tragically pronounced dead shortly thereafter. Both vehicles involved in the incident are said to be cooperating with the investigation. No further details have been made publicly available at this time.
