Los Angeles County, CA: Fatal Bicycle Collision in Norwalk

Los Angeles County, California (April 9, 2018): The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department is overseeing an active investigation into a fatal collision between a bicycle and a sedan in Norwalk, CA, on Friday morning, April 6, 2018. Only limited information has been made available to the public while the investigation remains open and ongoing.

Officials believe the accident happened just before 8:00 a.m. when a man riding a bicycle collided with a sedan at the intersection of Mapledale Street and Claressa Avenue. The bicyclist, described as a Latino man in his 80s, suffered fatal injuries and was reportedly pronounced dead at the scene. While the victim has been identified by authorities, his name has not been released to the public at this time. The cause of the collision remains under investigation and no further details have been provided.
