Los Angeles, CA – Woman Killed in Hit-and-Run Near East 84th Place
Los Angeles, CA (August 3, 2018) – A fatal hit-and-run occurred on Thursday in Los Angeles. Police responded to a call regarding the incident around 1:00 am. Los Angeles Police Sgt. Jeffrey Phelps says officers found a woman lying in the roadway near East 84th Place and South Central Avenue. The woman suffered serious injuries and was pronounced dead on scene. Police say that the woman is a local resident in her 40s. Her name has not been released at this time.
Police are actively investigating in an effort to find the driver. They do not have any concrete leads, however, they believe that a truck may be involved in the crash due to the high volume of trucks passing through the area. Officers say they are checking nearby businesses to determine if the incident is captured on surveillance videos.
