Los Angeles, CA – Woman Hit & Killed in Crash on 101 Fwy at Alvarado St
Los Angeles, CA (August 8, 2023) – On Tuesday morning, the 101 Freeway in the Echo Park area of Los Angeles was closed after a woman who had gotten out of her car was hit and killed.
At about 3:45 a.m. in the morning, California Highway Patrol troopers were called to the scene of an accident on the southbound side of the highway near Alvarado Street.
CHP Sgt. Jensen said the victim evidently experienced vehicle issues and pulled over to the side of the roadway to investigate. Jensen stated she was hit by an oncoming driver shortly thereafter. Despite life-saving attempts by paramedics, she was pronounced dead at the scene.
The southbound 101 Freeway lanes were closed near Alvarado for several hours while police and emergency crews worked the scene.
We would like to extend our deepest condolences to the deceased woman’s family.
