Los Angeles, CA – Woman Crashes into Parked Cars at 7-Eleven on Century Blvd, Resulting in Man’s Death

Los Angeles, CA (July 30, 2023) – Officials are investigating an accident that caused the death of a 58-year-old man inside a convenience store in South Los Angeles on Saturday night.

The incident occurred at the 7-Eleven on the corner of West Century Boulevard and South Figueroa Street at around 10:00 p.m.

A 37-year-old woman put her vehicle into reverse before she allegedly pressed the gas pedal instead of the brake, slamming her black pickup truck into several other vehicles and trapping the victim between her truck and a parked car.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. Several other persons were also hit, though officers say they sustained no injuries.

According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the driver was first detained but eventually released. There’s no word yet on whether or not drugs or alcohol played a role in the collision, but police are continuing to investigate.
