Los Angeles, CA – Teen Skateboarder Struck, Fatally Injured on SR 79 at Peralta Dr
Los Angeles, CA (July 31, 2023) – Troopers with the California Highway Patrol said that a teen on his skateboard was killed on Sunday after he was hit by a car near Warner Springs.
The CHP said that at 8:05 p.m., the incident happened on southbound State Route 79, north of Peralta Drive.
In a press release, CHP Public Information Officer Jared Grieshaber added that a 70-year-old man was driving a Mitsubishi southbound on Highway 79 when he collided with the skateboarder.
The victim, a 16-year-old boy, was fatally injured and pronounced dead at Inland Valley Hospital. The Mitsubishi’s driver and his passenger, a 70-year-old woman, were not hurt.
CHP said that impairment from drugs or alcohol did not appear to be a factor in the collision, though the investigation is ongoing.
