Los Angeles, CA – Police Pursuit Ends in Multi-Car Crash at Vanowen St & Bellaire Ave, Injuring Five Victims
Los Angeles, CA (July 28, 2023) – Authorities have released additional information after a high-speed police pursuit in Los Angeles injured six individuals, one of whom was a toddler, on Monday.
The incident reportedly occurred in Valley Glen after police began following a stolen vehicle around the 14400 block of Oxnard Street. Shortly after officers started their pursuit, at roughly 5:45 p.m., the driver hit several other cars and nearly hit another vehicle head-on at Vanowen Street and Bellaire Avenue.
Local surveillance footage showed Los Angeles Police Department patrol vehicles chasing the stolen vehicle before apprehending the suspect, who attempted to run from the scene on foot.
According to the Los Angeles Fire Department, six victims, including five adults and one child, were rushed to an area hospital. The victims are said to be in fair condition, though no additional details were released about those involved.
An investigation into the crash remains active.
