Los Angeles, CA – Police Chase Ends in Two-Vehicle Collision on I-5 Near Stevenson Ranch

Los Angeles, CA (July 29, 2023) – On Tuesday afternoon, a police chase on the southbound 5 Freeway culminated in a catastrophic collision near the Stevenson Ranch area.

Around 12:30 p.m., California Highway Patrol troopers noticed a Dodge Challenger traveling too fast on I-5.

Police pursued the suspect, who then crashed into another vehicle. Local news footage captured the charred remains of both cars and burnt foliage surrounding the area.

The footage revealed that traffic was backed up for quite a ways as emergency personnel dealt with the situation.

The southbound side of the highway briefly had all lanes closed, and the alleged suspect was detained. At least two victims in the other vehicle were also transported to a local hospital.

However, no other information regarding the crash has been made public, and the CHP investigation is still ongoing.
