Los Angeles, CA – One Killed in Train Accident at Laurel Canyon Blvd
Los Angeles, CA (September 1, 2023) – Initial reports indicate that a woman, age 50 or older, was hit and killed by southbound Amtrak Pacific Surfliner train 794 on Friday night.
The incident occurred just east of Laurel Canyon Boulevard. At around 9:40 p.m., a passenger train en route to San Diego came to an abrupt halt when it hit the woman near the 12000 block of Sherman Road.
The 116 passengers and train crew members who were not hurt stayed on board until the Los Angeles Police Department released the train.
There is currently no further information available, though the investigation is still active.
