Los Angeles, CA – One Hospitalized in Apt Complex Fire on West Ave
Los Angeles, CA (August 24, 2023) – After responding to reports of an apartment complex on fire, local firefighters rescued one victim on Thursday evening.
At around 5:00 p.m., the Los Angeles County Fire Department was called to the 1800 block of West Avenue J12 in Lancaster, where a house fire had been reported.
Firefighters arrived at the scene and found the apartment where the blaze had been reported. After receiving permission to force entry, firefighters saw black smoke coming from inside the structure.
When the smoke cleared, firefighters found at least one individual inside the apartment who had suffered burns covering 90% of his body.
The victim, who was in severe condition, was taken to an area hospital by ambulance. It’s unclear if anybody else was hurt in the incident.
The fire’s origin has yet to be determined, though an investigation is still active at this time.
Our thoughts go out to the injured victim in hopes of his full recovery.
