Los Angeles, CA – Four Hurt, Two Hospitalized After Chemical Leak on De Soto Ave in Chatsworth
Los Angeles, CA (July 31, 2023) – On Monday morning, fire rescue teams reported that a chemical accident necessitated the temporary evacuation of around 100 individuals from a two-story business in Chatsworth.
Los Angeles Fire Department hazardous materials specialists were sent to the building in the 9300 block of De Soto Avenue just after 9:00 a.m. to determine the source of the leak.
Paramedics triaged four persons at the site for various “medical complaints,” and two of those victims required transport to a Los Angeles hospital.
The building was finally cleared for occupancy around 10:45 a.m. As a safety measure, drivers were also diverted from the De Soto Avenue and Prairie Street intersection through the early afternoon.
An investigation into the cause of the incident is still ongoing, and the cause of the chemical leak remains unknown.
Our thoughts are with the injured victims in hopes of their full recovery.
