Los Angeles, CA – Fatality, Three Injuries Occur in Pedestrian Accident at Mission Hills Toyota Dealership
Los Angeles, CA (August 10, 2023) – On Wednesday morning, a woman driving an SUV allegedly caused a deadly crash at a Toyota dealership in the San Fernando Valley.
First responders were dispatched to Hamer Toyota in the 11000 block of Sepulveda Boulevard in the Missions Hills area around 9:10 a.m., close to the intersection with San Fernando Mission Road.
According to reports, the woman smashed into the dealership’s customer reception area after driving onto the covered service bay driveway.
A fire department spokesman in Los Angeles stated that a 56-year-old female client at the dealership became trapped under the car and was rescued by onlookers. She was sent to the hospital in critical condition but succumbed to her injuries a short time later.
One of the dealership’s employees suffered a head injury and was transferred to the hospital in serious condition. Two other men working at the dealership were also hurt: a 23-year-old who suffered an arm laceration and a 35-year-old who sustained injuries to his head and feet. Both were rushed to the hospital, though their were not considered life-threatening.
A police investigator on the site speculated that the driver involved may have confused the accelerator for the brake. However, the accident investigation is still in progress.
We extend our deepest condolences to the deceased woman’s family. Our thoughts are with the injured victim and their loved ones.
