Los Angeles, CA – Child Hospitalized After Pedestrian Accident at Vermont Ave & 7th St

Los Angeles, CA (July 28, 2023) – A child was hit and seriously injured by a vehicle at the intersection of Vermont Avenue and 7th Street in Los Angeles on Thursday afternoon, July 27.

At around 5:00 p.m., officers with the Los Angeles Police Department reported to the scene and discovered that a 10-year-old child suffered major injuries.

The child, who police suspect didn’t speak English, was riding on a rented scooter at the time of the collision. The Los Angeles Fire Department immediately treated the child as they arrived on the site, and EMTs transported him to a nearby hospital in serious condition.

The driver involved stayed on the site and assisted law enforcement. However, police are still investigating and requesting assistance from the public to locate the child’s parents.

Anyone with information on the crash or the child’s identification is urged to come forward and call the Watch Commander with the LAPD’s West Traffic Division.
