Los Angeles, CA – Apt Fire Causes Injuries on Lexington Ave in Hollywood
Los Angeles, CA (September 4, 2023) – On Sunday, Los Angeles Fire Department officials responded to a blaze on the upper level of a two-story, 20-unit apartment building in Hollywood.
The fire started at around 5:30 p.m. on Sunday. A 79-year-old woman was sent to the hospital for treatment of smoke inhalation, though another wounded person refused to be transported by EMS.
According to the LAFD, one fireman who had been working the flames from the start was taken to the hospital in fair condition due to symptoms of dehydration.
The building, located on West Lexington Avenue, lacked available fire sprinklers, per investigators. The inquiry into the cause of the fire remains ongoing in the meantime.
Our thoughts are extended to the injured victims and their loved ones in hopes of their complete recovery.
