Long Beach, CA – Woman Killed, One Hurt in Motorcycle Crash on 91 Fwy
Long Beach, CA (September 9, 2023) – On Saturday afternoon, an accident on the Riverside (91 Freeway) in Long Beach claimed the life of one woman and sent another person to the hospital.
California Highway Patrol Officer Stephen Brandt said that the accident occurred around 1:30 p.m. on the westbound highway at Downey Avenue.
Two motorcyclists were forced off the road when they attempted to avoid another collision involving a black Dodge Charger and a gray Subaru.
Brandt said that one female victim had been declared deceased at the site. A dispatch supervisor for the Los Angeles County Fire Department said that paramedics had taken another patient to a trauma facility.
All westbound traffic was temporarily rerouted off at Lakewood Boulevard while authorities investigated.
Our deepest condolences are with the deceased victim’s family. Our thoughts go out to the injured victim and their loved ones.
