Long Beach, CA – Fatal Chain-Reaction Wreck on 405 Fwy at Pacific Ave
Long Beach, CA (August 27, 2023) – On Sunday, August 27, one person was killed after a single-car wreck set off a chain reaction of related vehicle accidents on the 405 Freeway.
Just before 11:00 p.m., drivers on the southbound 405 Freeway in Long Beach reported a traffic accident, with the motorist leaving the vehicle, before the Pacific Avenue exit.
The driver crossed the median into the northbound lanes of the 405 Freeway, where he was hit by another motorist, causing a chain-reaction wreck.
Troopers with the California Highway Patrol forced the closure of several lanes as they investigated, and EMTs arrived to assess injured victims. The total number of victims involved remains unknown, however.
No other details have been released in the interim.
Our sincere condolences go out to the deceased man’s family. Our thoughts are with the injured victims in hopes of their complete recovery.
