Loma Linda, CA – One Struck and Killed in DUI Accident
Loma Linda, CA (October 14, 2018) – In Loma Linda, one person was struck and killed in a DUI accident on the 215 Freeway. Three people were injured in the same accident on Saturday morning, October 13, according to police who came to the scene immediately.
The accident initially took place around 12:45 a.m. near Iowa Avenue when two vehicles were headed south and collided. One vehicle rolled over following the impact. Two good Samaritans came to the scene and tried to assist those involved in the accident.
At the same time, Lawrence Washington was driving his Dodge Dakota on the right shoulder of the roadway and struck the two good Samaritans.
Both of the men were rushed to the hospital but one of them later died. He was identified as an off-duty firefighter by police. A passenger in one of the vehicles was also taken to the hospital with a variety of wounds due to the accident.
The man who was driving and struck the two men was arrested because he had been driving intoxicated at the time. Police continue to investigate the accident.
