Lodi, CA – Student Injured in Hit-and-Run Pedestrian Accident on Scarborough Drive
Lodi, CA (January 24, 2019) – On Tuesday this week, a student was walking to school when he was seriously injured in a pedestrian accident that took place on Scarborough Drive. The student had been walking to the Beckman Elementary School at the time of the accident.
The student’s foot was allegedly run over by a vehicle that was passing through on Scarborough. Police said that the child’s foot was clipped under the vehicle while the woman was driving southbound. The driver was wearing a headscarf at the time and driving a gray or silver compact vehicle.
At the time, the child had been in the crosswalk walking eastbound. His mother was waiting for him in that area of town.
The child was injured. After the child located his mother, she took him to the hospital for treatment. Luckily, he is expected to recover.
At this time, police do not know who the woman is or if she knew she ran over the child’s foot or not. The investigation continues.
