Lemon Grove, CA – Several Injured After Mattress Falls in Roadway

Lemon Grove, CA (August 3, 2018) – Several vehicles were involved in a Thursday crash triggered by a mattress in the roadway.  The crash occurred at approximately 11:49 am in the westbound lanes of Highway 94.

At that time, a pickup truck traveling on the highway encountered the mattress.  The truck driver was unable to react in time to avoid a collision with the mattress.  Two other vehicles, a sedan and an unidentified third vehicle were also involved in the crash.

Multiple injuries were reported in this crash.  Police, fire and ambulance officials all responded to the crash.  Several people were taken to nearby hospitals to be treated for injuries.  An update on their conditions is not available at this time.

The crash scene was blocked by two vehicles.  A tow truck was dispatched to clear the roadway as traffic remained affected for a period of time following the crash.

California Highway Patrol is investigating the incident.  No further details are available at this time.
