Lebec, CA – Teenager Loses Life in 5 Freeway Crash, Others Also Injured
Lebec, CA (September 25, 2018) – A teenager was killed and others were injured in a 5 Freeway crash that happened in Lebec. The accident happened on Friday, September 21.
15-year-old Ivan Villafan of Inglewood lost his life and two others were seriously injured in the traffic collision on the Interstate 5 Freeway that afternoon. The driver involved veered to the left side of the road, struck a curb, and then started to spin onto the opposite side of the highway. The vehicle went up an embankment and then overturned.
Police claim that emergency responders arrived at the scene around 5:45 p.m. to find that a female juvenile and the driver were both seriously injured in the accident. The 15-year-old died at the scene.
A 2-year-old who was secured in a car seat was also pulled from the wreckage and he was unharmed. Detectives are still taking a closer look at this accident.
