Lancaster, CA – One Person Killed in Fatal Car Accident on 60th Street West
Lancaster, CA (February 9, 2019) – 29-year-old Cheree Sowell was killed in a fatal car accident that also caused injuries to six other people due to a drunken driver. The driver responsible was identified as 34-year-old Daniel Kaseforth, who has since been arrested on DUI charges.
The accident took place around 4:50 p.m. on Thursday. Sowell had been driving a Scion and stopped at the stop sign at the intersection of 60th Street West and State Route 138. Kaseforth was driving a 2007 Ford south on the street and suddenly smashed into the back of the Scion.
This caused the Scion to be pushed into the path of a 2018 Ford pickup truck. The pickup truck crashed into the left side of the Scion, which led to fatal injuries in Sowell. She tragically passed away at the scene of the accident.
Paramedics were immediately called to the scene of the accident and transported all injured parties to hospitals. Five people were injured, three of which were taken by ambulance and two of which were taken by ambulance.
Police continue their investigation into the accident at this time.
