Lancaster, CA – Bicyclist Killed in Monday Crash on Sierra Highway

Lancaster, CA (August 15, 2018) – In tragic news out of Lancaster, a bicyclist died Monday following a collision on Sierra Highway.  According to police reports, a woman in her 50s was riding a bicycle on the northbound side of the highway when she was struck by a vehicle.

Police and rescue crews responded immediately to the scene around 7:30 pm.   It was evident that the woman suffered critical injuries in the crash.  She was transported to a local hospital where she later died from her injuries.  The woman’s identity has not been released.

It appears as though the driver remained on scene and cooperated with police.   It is unclear at this time exactly how the crash occurred.  Police have not released additional details nor have they identified the driver.

An investigation into this crash remains ongoing.
