Lamont, CA – Drunk Driving Crash Leads to Serious Injuries
Lamont, CA (August 22, 2018) – In Lamont, a drunk driving crash took place that led to serious injuries. It happened along Di Giorgio Road on Sunday morning, according to authorities.
Two vehicles collided around 5:31 a.m. on the day in question. The California Highway Patrol said that a Honda sedan turned into the path of a Chevy sedan that was traveling west at the time. The Chevy was being driven by 34-year-old Armando Renteria. He was struck head-on by the driver in the Honda.
Renteria was quickly transported to Kern Medical for treatment of major injuries. The 25-year-old man from Lamont who was driving the Honda was hospitalized with major injuries and was not wearing a seatbelt at the time. He was identified as Gabriel Hernandez and he was believed to be driving under the influence at the time.
Hernandez has received charges for his role in the accident. It is still being investigated at this time.
