Lake Balboa, CA – Seven Hurt in Three Car Crash at Hayvenhurst Intersection
Lake Balboa, CA (August 14, 2018) – A three car pile-up caused injuries to seven people Monday night. The crash took place in Lake Balboa at the intersection of Hayvenhurst Avenue and Victory Boulevard. Just after 8:00 pm, an SUV was waiting to turn left onto Victory Boulevard fro the westbound lanes. For unknown reasons, an SUV collided with the sedan at the intersection. The SUV then continued on and struck a police cruiser waiting at the stoplight.
The force of the impact caused the SUV to roll over. The police vehicle was found in the middle of the two vehicles, next to the sedan.
When emergency officials arrived on scene, they found several injured as a result of the crash. Two occupants of the police cruiser sustained minor injuries. Five people, including two children in the SUV, suffered injuries as well. Their injuries ranged from minor to major. There is no word on whether any life-threatening injuries occurred. No one in the sedan was hurt. Police have not identified the injured victims.
The crash remains under investigation at this time.
