La Mesa, CA – Bicyclist Hurt in Hit-and-Run at Murray Hill Rd & Waite Dr
La Mesa, CA (August 18, 2023) – On Wednesday in La Mesa, a hit-and-run driver left a bicyclist critically wounded, and police are still looking for the motorist.
Officials with the La Mesa Police Department said that just before 7:40 p.m., they responded to the intersection of Murray Hill Road and Waite Drive in reference to an accident between a pickup truck and a bike.
The victim was thrown off his bike and left lying on the road with significant injuries after being hit by the truck’s driver. La Mesa PD says the truck driver pulled over briefly but then left the site before authorities arrived.
The unidentified 51-year-old victim was taken to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Eyewitnesses reportedly saw a white 4-door Ford pickup driven by a Hispanic male with a baseball cap, white t-shirt, black shorts, and white sneakers.
La Mesa authorities are continuing to investigate at this time.
