Los Angeles Fatal Pedestrian Accident
We extend our thoughts to the family of the deceased pedestrian.
Pedestrians are found all across Southern California. With the largest population in the country, there are literally millions of pedestrians all across the state on a daily basis.
Drivers have a legal duty of care for pedestrians. A driver must not act negligently in the presence of a pedestrian. This means obeying all traffic laws, stopping at stop signs and crosswalks, and not making any unsafe maneuvers in the presence of pedestrians. All of these driving behaviors lessen the risk of an accident.
Similarly, pedestrians must take care for their own safety as well. A pedestrian has a duty to observe traffic conditions and yield to oncoming vehicles where appropriate.
There is no word yet on what caused this collision. Whether the deceased’s family can bring a lawsuit against the driver for wrongful death will depend upon the outcome of the police investigation.
In Southern California, if you have lost a loved due to the negligence of another, you may be able to bring a wrongful death claim. At the Los Angeles Injury Group we offer free consultations for all personal injury cases.
