California Hit and Run Crash
By law, a driver is required to remain at the scene of a car accident. The purpose behind the law is to allow drivers to exchange contact information with one another and so that police can investigate the crash. An officer’s job is to determine the sequence of events leading to the crash and, in some cases, issue charges against the responsible driver.
When a person flees the scene of a crash, everything changes. A crash investigation turns into a criminal investigation. The driver or pedestrian remaining on the scene is left with a difficult situation. They may be seriously hurt and they have no idea who caused the injuries.
