Indio, CA – Madison Street Accident Leads to One Fatality

Indio, CA (August 31, 2018) – A fatal Madison Street accident took place at Avenue 48 involving a pedestrian. The accident took place around 3:30 on Thursday afternoon, according to police.

Police stated that, for an unknown reason, a male pedestrian was crossing the street and was struck by a vehicle in the intersection of the roadway. When paramedics arrived at the scene, they found that the man had sustained life-threatening injuries. The victim was quickly taken to the hospital and was pronounced dead while there.

The name of the victim has not yet been released as his family is being notified. The driver of the vehicle that struck him stopped and stayed at the scene following the accident. The westbound lanes of the roadway were closed down for several hours while police investigated.
