Gilroy, CA – Fatal Accident At Watsonville and Pharmer Intersection

Gilroy, CA (August 4, 2018) – A serious accident occurred Friday night in Gilroy at the intersection of Watsonville and Pharmer Road.  The crash involved a motorcycle and a dark gray SUV.  Although it is not clear how the crash occurred, witnesses reported smoke and fire coming from one of the vehicles after the collision.

One person was killed in the crash.  Another person, suffering from a broken leg, was found lying in the roadway next to the deceased individual.  There is some indication that one of the drivers involved attempted to flee after the crash.  That report, however, has not been confirmed.

California Highway Patrol continues to investigate this crash.  At this time, they have not released the identity of the deceased individual or anyone else involved in the crash.   The cause of the crash is under investigation.
