Fresno County, CA – Dirt Bike vs. Big Rig, Fatal Accident
Fresno County, CA (November 19, 2018) – A collision between a dirt bike and big rig on Clovis Avenue claimed the life of Ramon Gonzalez, 16. On Saturday evening shortly after 5:00. Gonzalez was a sophomore at Selma High School and played on the junior varsity football team.
Initial reports of the accident state that Gonzalez was riding his dirt bike in the shoulder of the road when, for unknown reasons, he suddenly entered the flow of traffic. Officials said that the 16-year-old was struck by the tractor-trailer in the southbound lane of Clovis Avenue, just south of Dinuba Avenue. Gonzalez was pronounced dead at the scene due to fatal traumas he suffered as a result of the collision. It took police and firefighters roughly three hours to clear the scene and allow traffic to pass through again.
Police are keeping this investigation open in the hops of discovering what caused Gonzalez to enter the roadway. There is no word on the name or condition of the truck driver.
