Fresno, CA – Man Killed in Hit-and-Run Accident on West Childs Avenue
Fresno, California (October 22, 2018) – A man was killed in an auto-pedestrian accident involving a hit-and-run driver on Friday night in Merced County. The crash occurred on W. Childs Avenue near the 900 bock at approximately 9:15 pm on October 19th. At this time, no detailed information concerning the identities of the pedestrian or the motorist involved has been revealed.
According to officials, a man in his 30s was attempting to cross the street when he was hit by a car. The driver who struck the pedestrian was reportedly operating either a Ford Mustang or a Ford Explorer which may have front-end damage from the accident. The driver of the car fled the scene of the accident. According to first responders, the victim died of the injuries he sustained upon impact. As of now, investigators are still looking into the probable cause of the crash.
