Finley, CA – Fatal Motorcycle Crash in Area of East Finley Road
Finley, CA (August 23, 2018) – A fatal motorcycle crash took place on East Finley Road that led to serious results for one biker. The incident happened around 12:38 p.m. on Tuesday.
Police who responded to the scene said that the motorcyclist lost his life when he collided with a pickup truck in the afternoon. He has since been identified as 66-year-old Richard Peter Salkeld.
At the time, Kenneth Lee Barr had been operating a 2016 Ford F-250 truck. Barr was making a left turn to head into a private driveway when he turned directly into the path of Salkeld.
The two collided head-on. Firefighters responded to the scene and an air ambulance was called in but it was later stated that he died at the scene. Salkeld had not been using safety equipment at the time. Barr was not injured.
At this time, authorities continue to investigate the incident.
