Escondido, CA – Teen Bicyclist Receives Serious Injuries in Crash
Escondido, CA (September 29, 2018) – A teen bicyclist was seriously injured in a traffic accident in the area of El Norte and Centre City parkways. He has since been identified by police.
Police said that the bicyclist who was injured was identified as Josue Carrasco, a 14-year-old boy. The accident took place on September 7 around 11 p.m.
Carrasco was riding a bicycle at the time of the accident when, for unknown reasons, he was struck by a sedan near the intersection. Firefighters and paramedics responded to the scene and found that the young rider had been pinned underneath the vehicle and sustained serious facial burns.
Carrasco was freed from the vehicle and flown to Rady Children’s Hospital, then being transferred to another hospital along the way. Carrasco received a variety of surgeries and will be expecting more in the future, so now family is wondering how they will be able to afford his medical needs.
The investigation into the driver and the accident continues at this time.
Escondido Bicycle Accident
Bicycle accidents are always traumatic in nature and are made even more traumatic when a child is involved. Bicycle accidents in California are extremely likely to cause serious accidents and even fatalities in those involved. If your child has been involved in one of these serious accidents, you have a right to seek compensation so that your child can move forward during this difficult time.
Bicyclists are expected to follow certain rules of the road, including yielding to traffic and sticking to certain lanes. However, many of these accidents wind up being the fault of drivers who share the roads. In some cases, a driver intrudes into a bike lane, doesn’t give the right-of-way, fails to check for bicyclists at the intersection, and more.
If you can prove that another party was liable for this accident, there is a good chance that you will be able to move forward with a California personal injury claim in your loved one’s time of need.
