Encinitas, CA – Elderly Woman Struck in Fatal Pedestrian Accident
Encinitas, CA (October 7, 2018) – On Friday, October 5, an elderly woman was struck in an Encinitas fatal pedestrian accident that took place on Balour Drive. It happened around 7 p.m. when the woman was crossing at the 500 block of the roadway.
Police are still investigating but have found that a Toyota Prius had been heading northbound at the time and immediately struck the woman while she was in the roadways.
A bystander was in the area and rushed to attempt to save her life. They immediately transported the victim to a hospital where she was pronounced dead.
The woman’s name has not yet been released and neither has the name of the motorist.
Detectives are trying to determine why and how the accident took place.
