Elk Grove, CA – One Individual Identified Following Fatal Accident
Elk Grove, CA (December 27, 2018) – In Elk Grove, one individual lost their life in a fatal accident that took place on Highway 99. Police have now identified the individual who was tragically killed in the accident.
The California Highway Patrol has identified the individual who lost his life as 30-year-old Elliot Dean of North Highland. Highland was killed in the crash that happened around 3:30 a.m. on Wednesday in the area of Sheldon Road.
Authorities say that the accident took place between an SUV and two tractor-trailers. Dean had been driving the maroon SUV involved in the accident when, for reasons that are not yet known, he suddenly lost control of his vehicle. He veered across several lanes of traffic before his vehicle came to a rest.
The vehicle sat there for some time until his vehicle was struck by a tractor-trailer, which caused him to be ejected from the vehicle. From there, a second tractor-trailer breezed through and struck him.
Emergency responders say that Dean sustained fatal injuries. Police did not confirm whether or not the drivers of the tractor-trailers stayed at the scene of the accident.
At this time, the investigation into the matter continues.
