El Cajon, CA – Child Seriously Injured in Severe Hit-and-Run Crash
El Cajon, CA (October 6, 2018) – Police say that a 9-year-old boy was seriously injured in a hit-and-run crash at Sunshine Avenue and Main Street. The accident happened on Thursday, October 4.
25-year-old Courtney Webber was found hiding under her bed at home in Lakeside when police came knocking to find her, the suspect in this horrific accident. At the time of the accident, they say that Webber had been driving a blue Honda east. She ran a red light at the intersection in the area.
This put her vehicle directly into the path of a 9-year-old boy on a bicycle. The boy had a green light at the time.
The child was left unconscious with major injuries, including head trauma. He was quickly taken to the hospital for treatment of his injuries.
Webber failed to stop at the scene of the accident and was later tracked to her home, where she was arrested.
