Diamond Bar, CA – Woman Survives One Crash, Fatally Struck in Hit-and-Run Moments Later
Diamond Bar, California (October 25, 2018) – A woman died after she was struck by a hit-and-run driver moments after she was involved in a two-car collision early Thursday morning in Diamond Bar. The collision involving two vehicles transpired at approximately 12:25 am on the 57 Freeway. Presently, no detailed information concerning the identities of the people involved in the crash has been revealed.
According to The California Highway Patrol, a woman was killed after being struck by two vehicles on the 57 Freeway transition lanes to the 60 Freeway. Authorities responded to the initial collision approximately seven minutes after it occurred, only to find that one of the victims had been fatally struck by a third vehicle that fled the scene. An initial investigation indicated that a woman in her 40’s reportedly crawled out of the wreckage but was struck by another vehicle. The driver of that car did not stop after the collision. First responders pronounced the woman dead at the scene of the accident. Authorities said the driver of the other vehicle remained at the scene. The collision forced the closure of the transition lanes from the 57 Freeway to the 60 Freeway, and two right lanes of the 60 Freeway for several hours. At this time, investigators have not released a description of the hit-and-run vehicle.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing. As more evidence continues to surface, more information will be available to the public.
