Diamond Bar, CA – Moreno Valley Woman Killed in Crash on 57 Freeway has been Identified
Diamond Bar, California (October 27, 2018) – The Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner has identified a woman who was fatally struck by a driver early Thursday morning in Diamond Bar. The victim has been identified as 49-year-old Naronica Owens, of Moreno Valley. According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident transpired at approximately 12:20 am on the northbound 57 Freeway near the 60 Freeway.
According to the initial police report, Owens was traveling in a 1992 Honda Civic that had unexpectedly stopped in the fast lane. Owen’s vehicle was then suddenly struck from behind by a 2017 Toyota Prius. Officials have confirmed, Owens got out of her vehicle after the crash and was then hit by a third vehicle. That vehicle did not stop but instead fled the scene. That vehicle has been identified as a white, 2011-model or newer Chevrolet Cruze. Owen sustained severe injuries and died at the scene. The hit-and-run car was last seen traveling on Interstate 60 heading eastbound. Officers are actively searching for the suspect vehicle and driver.
As of now, this accident is under investigation. As more evidence continues to surface, more information will be released to public sources.
